Webster, NY - A man was pronounced dead and five people were injured after a fatal car accident in Webster on Nov. 1.

At approximately 1:05 a.m., Webster police responded to Gasberry Lane where they found a vehicle crashed into a tree, the engine compartment on fire. Police say an area resident had removed the driver and passengers from the vehicle prior to their arrival.

The driver was identified as Brody D. Spade, 18, of Webster. He was transported to the hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.

The five other occupants, ages ranging from 16 to 18 years old, were transported to area hospitals where they are currently being treated for injuries ranging from minor to serious.

Webster police say early investigation indicates that speed was a contributing factor in the accident.

The investigation is ongoing. Police say more information will be released as the investigation allows, but they are requesting that the privacy of the families are respected during this difficult time.

The Webster PD was assisted by the West Webster Fire Department, New York State Police, and the Webster Special Police.
