Webster, NY - Webster firefighters responded to the report of three vehicles on fire in the driveway of a Brooksboro Drive residence on August 7 at approximately 1:40 a.m.
When first responders arrived, they found three vehicles on fire in the driveway, with an attached two-car garage at risk of catching fire.
Firefighters and neighbors attempted to alert any house occupants to evacuate the residence, with the possible risk of the house catching fire. However, they were unsuccessful, so firefighters had to force entry and were successfully able to awaken the resident inside.
All three fires were brought under control before the fire could spread to the home.
According to a press release posted on the North East Joint Fire District website, the firefighter crew was voluntarily bunking overnight at headquarters, which helped reduce the response time “by minutes.”
“This undoubtedly prevented the fire from spreading to the home,” Fire Chief Robert Boutillier
states in the press release.
No injuries were reported. The fires are under investigation by the Monroe County Fire Bureau.
