Village neighbors, kids chalk sidewalks with positive messages

chalk-full-of-happiness

The world may seem bleak right now amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, but some Webster residents are fighting the doom-and-gloom with chalk held high. A few Webster village residents have been using chalk to write positive messages on sidewalks to lift up people’s spirits.

Kristi Chatfield started the “chalk the sidewalks” project with the neighbors and area children. The colorful messages can be seen along Park Avenue, Dunning Avenue, and Elm Street in the Village of Webster.

Flowers, reminders to “smile,” and empowering messages such as “Happiness is the best makeup” are just a few of the chalk creations marking these sidewalks.

Patti Cataldi, who is both a member of the Webster Town Board and a village resident, shared the photos to spread some cheer during such an uncertain time.

“We all need a bit of happiness right now!” Cataldi said in an email.

Keep spreading the cheer, Webster!
