Construction of sidewalks along Ridge Road has begun

This project may be the first of more sidewalks to come

The Ridge Road sidewalk project has commenced, with sidewalks being installed from Five Mile Line Road to the Village of Webster.

The Town of Webster received a $1.4 million grant about two years ago to install sidewalks along the aforementioned section of Ridge Road. The project also includes crosswalk, street lighting, landscaping, and bike lane improvements for about 1.47 miles of sidewalk.

Construction is progressing quickly, with hopes for completion before winter.

Drivers should expect traffic delays on Ridge Road as a result of construction.

Many Webster residents believe sidewalks should be installed in more areas of Webster. However, the town would likely have to seek out more Federal or State grants in order to fund more sidewalk projects.
