Webster, NY - The residents of Maplewood Nursing & Rehabilitation received a special Thanksgiving surprise last week.

In celebration of "World Kindness Month," DeWitt Road Elementary School teachers put their creative Thanksgiving hats on and made placemats for the residents of The Maplewood.

Kari DiGiacomo, Teacher on Special Assignment, personally delivered the placemats to each of the 74 Maplewood residents.

According to the news release shared by The Maplewood, everyone enjoyed meeting DiGiacomo and "receiving their lovely, colorful placemats."

"Some plan to use the placemats on Thanksgiving while others decided to hang them in their room so they can enjoy the colorful artwork."

All it takes is a small act of kindness to make a holiday - or any day - that much brighter for even one person.
