Webster, NY - The Webster Central School District (WCSD) has a page on its website solely dedicated to COVID-19 case notifications to keep Webster families informed and aware of any potential exposure to the virus. There is also an app families can use to receive immediate notifications of these cases as soon as they are posted on the website.
Below is a guide for both finding the page on the website and using the app (depending on your preference).
Using the District Website
Go to the Webster Central School District website: www.websterschools.org
At the top of the homepage, you will see a red banner with text reading “Important information regarding the reopening of schools and COVID-19.” Click on this link.
You will be directed to a page with the heading “Reopening & Coronavirus Info.” (The Superintendent of Schools and the Board of Education regularly post school updates and procedures related to the pandemic here, so you may want to routinely check this page as well.)
If you’re viewing the page on desktop, you will see a menu at the left side of the page. Click on “COVID-19 Case Notifications.” If you are viewing the page on a mobile device, this menu may be listed at the top of the page.
You should then be directed to the page where the latest case notification has been posted. To view past notifications, scroll to the bottom of the page to where it says “Archived Notices” and click on the link there, which will direct you to a Google document listing all past notices.
Receiving Reminders Via the App
Text @wcsd_covid to 81010.
You will receive a text back asking for your full name. Text your full name back in reply.
You will then be asked to identify yourself as a student, parent, or teacher. Respond per the text’s instructions.
You will receive a text confirming that you have joined the district’s “COVID notifications.” Next, you will be instructed to download the “Remind” app. (You should receive a link that takes you to your phone’s app store.)
Download the app and open it. Follow the prompts to complete the setup.
Once you’re finished, every time the district posts a new COVID case notification, you will be notified via the app.
