Webster, NY - A 17-year-old juvenile from Irondequoit was charged with Robbery in the Second Degree and Petit Larceny for robbing a 7-Eleven in Webster at gunpoint on June 20.
At 12 a.m. on June 20, Webster police responded to the 7-Eleven at 226 North Avenue in the Village of Webster for the report of a gunpoint robbery. Upon arrival, officers were informed that a masked male entered the store, waited in line while other customers cashed out, and then pulled out a pistol and demanded cash from the registers. He left in a getaway car with an undisclosed amount of cash.
Only minutes after speaking with the victim and witnesses, Webster officers located the vehicle described at the parking lot of another gas station about a mile away. Officers stopped the vehicle and conducted a lengthy overnight investigation and numerous interviews to identify the 17-year-old as the robbery suspect.
The 17-year-old juvenile was then charged and arraigned before Judge Dandrea Ruehlman in Youth Part Court as an Adolescent Offender. Judge Ruehlman remanded him to the Office of Children and Family Services’ detention center and set bail at $750 cash/$1,500 insurance bond.
“We were very fortunate to have great cooperation from witnesses that were in the area when the crime occured,” Webster Chief of Police Dennis Kohlmeier stated in the press release. “It was instrumental in helping resolve this serious crime quickly. We are thankful for everyone’s assistance.”
