New Cases

There are 27 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 since the 4 p.m. update on Sunday, April 5.

These new individuals include:

  • 1 Female between 10 and 19 years of age

  • 4 Females in their 20s

  • 3 Females in their 30s

  • 2 Males in their 30s

  • 3 Females in their 40s

  • 2 Females in their 50s

  • 1 Male in his 50s

  • 1 Female in her 60s

  • 1 Male in his 60s

  • 1 Male in his 70s

  • 2 Females in their 80s

  • 4 Males in their 80s

  • 2 Males in their 90s

Deaths

There were 7 new deaths since Sunday, April 5, bringing the total to 26.

Hospitalized

Of the 543 confirmed cases, 83 people are hospitalized. 30 of the 83 patients are in the ICU.

Message from Monroe County Public Health Commissioner Dr. Michael Mendoza: The CDC and Monroe County are now recommending universal masking when out in public. It is important to remember that masking is not a substitute for social distancing. We believe that masking is a good idea with the combination of social distancing and good hygiene.
