People at Webster Halloween party test positive for COVID-19

County department of health warns other party attendees of possible exposure

Webster, NY - The Monroe County Department of Public Health (MCDPH) says several attendees of a Halloween party in Webster last Friday tested positive for COVID-19.

The party, which the county says consisted primarily of young people and high school students, took place at La Baron Circle, near the intersection of Imperial Drive and Webster Road.

MCDPH says the attendees who tested positive exposed an unknown number of people at the party.

Several individuals tested positive at a Halloween party in Spencerport that same night as well.

“Anyone who was at one of these parties should be alert for symptoms of COVID-19,” MCDPH said in an official press release, “including fever or chills, cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, fatigue, muscle or body aches, headache, new loss of taste or smell, sore throat, congestion or runny nose, nausea or vomiting, or diarrhea.”

MCDPH reminds people that symptoms may occur anytime from 2-14 days after exposure.

Anyone who was at either of the two parties should self-quarantine immediately, says MCDPH, now through Friday, Nov. 13 and get tested for COVID-19. They should also email COVID19@monroecounty.gov.
