Webster, NY - The Webster Museum previously shared that it’s planning a “Virtual Holiday Festival," but didn’t yet provide any specifics. The museum has now shared how it plans to engage with the community during the holiday season while still keeping everyone safe during the pandemic.

“Webster Museum is determined to keep its 20-year tradition of celebrating the holidays with our community,” the museum shared in an email. “What brings you joy? Do you dress up your pets? Make your own ornaments or special treats? Decorate your house or yard? Have family traditions?”

The museum invites the Webster community to share photos of their holiday celebrations, either via email (photos@webstermuseum.org) or through its website (www.webstermuseum.org), where you’ll find directions for submitting your photos online.

In years past, the Webster Museum has traditionally held a community tree decorating contest, inviting people to come to the museum to decorate their own Christmas trees. People could then vote for their favorite trees in pure holiday spirit.

However, the museum has had to keep its doors closed to the public during the COVID-19 pandemic to prevent the spread of the virus.

It doesn’t seem like the museum plans on giving up on connecting with the community anytime soon.

People can submit their holiday photos with the Webster Museum starting Nov. 5. Everyone will be able to view submitted photos on the museum’s website from November 5, 2020 through January 8, 2021.
