The Town of Webster announced today that all non-essential town departments and staff go into the week of March 23-27 with facilities closed to the public. Staff will either work from home or be at home on furlough if they are unable to perform their job duties from home, in accordance with state and county mandates.
As a result, some of the town’s services may be limited indefinitely. The town says it will try to keep as many services available to Webster residents as possible.
Below is an updated list of town services that are still available but/or are more limited.
Webster Town Hall is closed to the public, but calls can still be made to (585) 872-1000 for any general questions you may have. For more department-specific questions:
Installment real estate tax payments originally due March 31 are now due April 30 with NO interest or penalty. Payments can be made by drop box (located on the south entrance of town hall, facing Ridge Road).
Residents may call (585) 872-7064 for more information regarding real estate tax payments.
Courts are CLOSED, including the office. Residents are to call 911 to be connected to the Webster Police.
The Webster Public Library is also CLOSED, but some services are still available to members. Residents may call (585) 872-7075 for more information about available library services.
The Webster Police Department lobby, attached to town hall, is CLOSED to public access. Residents are to call 911 with any police-related questions. WPD officers are still “on the job, keeping our community and all of us safe.”
The sewer and highway departments are working with an adjusted schedule in order to provide important services to the public.
“We care about the health and safety of our employees, as well as the public,” the Town of Webster states in its announcement.
Residents may email Webster Town Supervisor Tom Flaherty at supervisor@ci.webster.ny.us or call him at (585) 872-7068 with any questions, comments, suggestions, and/or concerns.
“Together, [we] will get through these most unprecedented of times,” the announcement concludes.
