The driver was arrested for DWI and other driving offenses

Webster, NY - A 28-year-old man drove through multiple construction barricades and crashed into a large ravine in the area of Lake Road and Ship Builders Creek Road in Webster on August 1.


According to the Webster Police Department, the vehicle had been traveling eastbound on Lake Road when it drove through construction barricades and crashed into the ravine within the construction area.

A 28-year-old male was the only occupant in the vehicle. West Webster firefighters assisted in removing the male from the vehicle. He was evaluated by EMS at the scene and transported to Rochester General Hospital for further assessment.


The male was arrested and charged with multiple traffic offenses: Driving While Intoxicated, Driving While Ability Impaired, Driving While Ability Impaired By the Combined Influence of Drugs or of Alcohol and Any Drug or Drugs, and Speed Not Reasonable and Prudent.


No other injuries were reported.
