Village Office to host Virtual Halloween Costume Contest

There may not be a “Trick-or-Treat Trail” in Webster this year, but it looks like residents can still compete for best costume in an event adjusted to the times. The Webster Village Office recently announced that it’s hosting a Virtual Halloween Costume Contest sponsored by Monroe County Legislator Matthew Terp.

Originally, the Village Office had decided to cancel its annual costume contest, which normally takes place on the day of the Business Improvement District’s (BID) “Trick-or-Treat Trail,” due to COVID-19. The BID also canceled the trail this year for the same reason.

But Legislator Terp and the Village Office decided it wouldn’t be fair to take all the fun out of Halloween this year. So instead, there will be a virtual costume contest, allowing residents to submit photos of themselves in costume for a chance at winning a prize.

Below are the details for the contest and how to submit:

How to Enter

Submit a photo of yourself in your costume (group costumes will also be accepted) to VOWcostumecontest@gmail.com no later than October 29 at midnight.

Please Note

All (appropriate) submissions will be featured on the Village of Webster Facebook page. By entering this contest, you agree to your photo being posted.

Winners

Winners will be announced on Halloween, October 31, by noon on the Village of Webster Facebook page. Winners will also be contacted via email and/or by phone. (Please include your email and phone number with your submission.)

Prizes

Winners will receive gift cards to a Village of Webster business of their choice.
