Webster, NY - The Webster Business Improvement District (BID) is hosting a 2020 Christmas Snowman Scavenger Hunt, giving the community the opportunity to win some prizes!


Sixteen businesses in the Village of Webster are participating. Each is described or “teased” in a list of riddles you must use to identify the business.


Once you identify all the businesses from the riddles, each of the participating locations have a snowman poster showcasing a specific word to fill in the blanks of a phrase the BID wants you to figure out. (A modified version of Hangman.)

Once you’ve collected all 16 words, use them to put together the phrase and email your answer to info@websterbid.com. Once you submit your answer, you’re entered to win some great prizes from village businesses.


But hurry: the contest ends Dec. 19!


Below are the riddles (verbatim) as listed on the BID site:

  1. Too many holiday treats will make you want to go here for nutrition advice

  2. Lots of christmas wrappings will need to be sucked up this year

  3. It can be very taxing to look for snowmen!

  4. Trying to get all over the world in one night with a reindeer can be a hair raising experience

  5. If your sleigh breaks down dashing through the snow, this is a place you’ll need to go.

  6. Deck the walls with all the cool things offered here.

  7. Grandma is healing here after her reindeer debacle

  8. Pretty sure the Wiseman brought gold, frankincense and mozzarella

  9. You can always “sub”stitute something else for Figgy pudding

  10. Where oh where could all the snowmen bee

  11. You can bet Santa bought his recliner here

  12. Historically speaking, scavenger hunts are fun!

  13. You can’t always bank on a white Christmas

  14. Let's read between the lines to find all the snowmen!

  15. Herbie alert Herbie alert! Misfit elf loose in the village where might he be?

  16. Out on the lawn there arose such a clatter
