With the “New York State on Pause” plan in effect, many small businesses may be negatively impacted as fewer people are out and about shopping and most employees are mandated to stay home.

But the Webster Business Improvement District (BID) is being proactive, looking out for Webster’s small businesses by organizing a “Gift Certificate Sale” program for the local merchants.

The program is meant to create some cash flow, to lessen the negative impact COVID-19 may have on local businesses.

How It Works

Customers will be encouraged to buy certificates not only for their favorite businesses, but also new ones, according to a mass email sent out to Webster BID members.

The BID will “heavily promote and advertise” the gift certificate program to help bring in cash flow now and new customers in the future - even after COVID-19 passes.

“Many communities across the country are successfully using these types of programs to get an influx of cash for those who may need it most: small businesses,” the BID email stated.

Webster businesses that would like to participate in the program as asked to answer the five questions contained in this form to help gauge interest among BID members.
