Webster celebrates Veterans Day 2020

Village provides Veterans Day Luncheon drive-thru style

Webster, NY - The Webster community came through once again to honor our veterans in an annual Veterans Day ceremony at Veterans Memorial Park this morning. It was also the first time the Village of Webster has provided its traditional Veterans Day Luncheon drive-thru style.

Attendees showed their respect to those who have made the greatest sacrifice for their country with bowed heads and salutes as flags were held high.

Once the ceremony concluded, veterans, service men and women, and their families made their way to the parking lot behind Village Hall, where Village of Webster volunteers brought prepared lunches to car windows like a drive-thru.

Webster Village Mayor Darrell Byerts was among the volunteers greeting drivers and handing out lunches.

With COVID-19 still spreading, the Village had to alter its usual luncheon format. Typically, the Village would invite veterans and their families to enjoy lunch inside the Community Meeting Hall.
