I just turned 29 last week, and for my birthday cake request, my sister made me an Old-Fashioned Cream Cheese Pound Cake.

I knew this was the cake I wanted because one of my other sisters had it for HER birthday earlier this year. And I fell in love.

IT IS INCREDIBLE!

If you're not afraid of a cake that's heavy and moist, I STRONGLY recommend this cake.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter (softened)

  • 1/2 cup shortening

  • 3 cups sugar

  • 8 oz. cream cheese (softened)

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour

  • 6 eggs

  • 1 tablespoon vanilla

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 325-degrees.

  2. Cream the butter and shortening together.

  3. Add the sugar and continue to cream.

  4. Add the cream cheese and beat until light and fluffy.

  5. Alternate adding the flour and eggs and mix until completely blended.

  6. Add the vanilla and mix.

  7. Pour into a greased bundt pan.

  8. Bake for 1 hour and 15 minutes or until cake tester comes out clean.

Bon Appetit!
