Webster Museum hosts Susan B. Anthony Doll Giveaway

The giveaway reminds people of the history of women voting in the U.S.

Webster, NY - Voting is one of the most talked about topics in our nation today. Recognizing this, the Webster Museum invites the community to participate in its Susan B. Anthony Doll Giveaway.

As we all know, Susan B. Anthony was the trailblazer for women voting in the 1800s. According to the Webster Museum, Anthony visited 50 towns and villages throughout Monroe County between 1872 and 1873 - including the Village of Webster.

“Following her arrest for illegally voting and looking to share her impassioned beliefs with the people, Susan B. Anthony took to the road,” the Webster Museum shares on its website.

Anthony once stood not far from where the Webster Museum is located today, at 18 Lapham Park in the village.

It was during these travels that Anthony gave her speech, "Is It a Crime for a Citizen of the United States to Vote?"

To commemorate Anthony’s visit to Webster, the museum is giving away one limited edition Susan B. Anthony Barbie doll - unopened in its original box.

“This newly released doll is destined to quickly become a collector's item,” says the museum.

To enter the giveaway, interested individuals simply have to sign up for a Webster Museum membership, or renew their existing membership, by Dec. 14, 2020.

One entry will be selected at random on Dec. 15, the museum says, “with the hope of Susan arriving at the winner’s home before Christmas.”
