Drivers have been reportedly speeding on Lake Road more than usual

Webster Police Chief Joe Rieger announced that he is directing his Patrol Division to “strictly enforce” all applicable vehicle and traffic laws in Webster, particularly along Lake Road.
The Webster Police Department has been receiving more complaints than usual about speeding vehicles along Lake Road, according to a press release.
“These types of complaints are more common during nice weather, but the frequency of complaints this year is alarming,” said Chief Rieger.
Chief Rieger said that residents who live on Lake Road are reporting loud and speeding vehicles on a frequent basis.
Webster police officers will be posted along Lake Road to stop traffic offenders and “issue tickets when appropriate.”
In addition, violators will not be offered any roadside reductions.
“This directive will be issued to my Road Patrol Division immediately and will last until further notice,” said Chief Rieger.
“If you are using Lake Road as your own personal speedway, this is your notice to slow down and drive responsibly,” the police chief added. The Webster Police Department will do its part to make sure our roads are safe for drivers, cyclists, and pedestrians.”
Webster PD encourages residents to continue reporting traffic violations if there is no improvement.
