The Webster Police Department has released the names of the pedestrians involved in the fatal hit-and-run that occurred on Empire Boulevard on June 20. Four pedestrians were hit by a vehicle; one person was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Oksana Zakharchyshyn, 41, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
All four pedestrians are Webster residents and are part of the same family.
Due to the active and ongoing nature of the investigation, the Webster PD is not releasing any additional information at this time.
“We know that there are a lot of questions about our timeline and why this case is taking so long to investigate,” Webster PD’s Public Information Officer, Gretchen O’Dea, shared in response to media inquiries. “We have an open and very active investigation into this crash. Several members of the Webster Police Department are assigned to this investigation. We are committed to doing a thorough investigation and we will not release any information that could jeopardize the integrity of our investigation. We will not commit to a timeline. We need time to do our work. Unfortunately, I am not presently able to share any additional details about this case. When that changes, we will certainly let you all know.”
“”We continue to ask that the community keep the Zakharchyshyn family in their thoughts during this difficult time,” Webster Police Chief Joseph Rieger stated in an official press release. “If anyone has additional information about this case, please call 911 and ask to speak to a member of the Webster Police Department.”
