Webster Republicans announce town candidates for General Election

Tom Flaherty, Patti Cataldi, and Ginny Nguyen to run for Webster Town Board seats

Webster, NY - The Webster Republican Committee announced its designated candidates for the November 2021 election.

Incumbent Supervisor Tom Flaherty is the candidate selected to rerun for the seat of Webster Town Supervisor. In the last election, Flaherty ran as a Democrat. He seeks to be reelected for his second term as a Republican.

The Committee says it designated Flaherty primarily for his efforts during the COVID-19 pandemic and the role he played in keeping “the tax rate low while preserving the quality of [town] services.”

Incumbent Webster Town Councilwoman Patti Cataldi and first-time runner Ginny Nguyen were selected to run for the two Webster Town Board seats.

Cataldi, a former Village of Webster Trustee, has served as Town Councilwoman for 11 years and is currently the Deputy Town Supervisor. As a Town Board member, she has served as the liaison to the Webster Police Department, Conservation Board, the Webster Area Fire Council, the Town of Webster Information Services/Technology Department, and the Town Wastewater Treatment Plant. She is also the Board Chair of the Breast Coalition of Rochester and is the recipient of the 2012 New York State Women of Distinction Award.

Nguyen, seeking her first term as a Webster Town Board member, came from a refugee family from Vietnam; her father was a Lieutenant Colonel from the South Vietnamese Army. She is a licensed real estate agent and a member of the Greater Rochester Association of Realtors. Her involvement in the Webster community includes volunteering with the Village of Webster

Business Improvement District; assisting in organizing Memorial Day and Fireman’s

Parades; and fundraising for Webster Comfort Care Home. She is Vice President of Public Relations for the Vietnamese Community (CDVN). She is a proud mother of a Nuclear Submarine Officer and has served as a Blue Star Mothers/Chair and organizer of the annual Army/Navy Football game fundraiser.

DiSalvo has served as Webster Town Justice since 2001. He has handled more than 35,000 cases, those of which include traffic violations, town code violations, misdemeanors, and felony cases. Over 85 of his written decisions have been published by the State Court System. He is a former president of the Monroe County Magistrates Association and is currently a member of the New York State Magistrates Association. He has officiated more than 300 marriages and has presided over numerous hearings, bench, and jury trials.
