Webster school district voters approve budget

Jennifer Birdsong-Ng and Shanna LaDelfa elected to Board of Education

Webster, NY - The votes are in: the majority of Webster Central School District voters have approved the district’s proposed budget. In addition, Jennifer Birdsong-Ng and Shanna LaDelfa have been elected to the Board of Education.

Although the budget was ultimately approved, the numbers were close, with 2,443 (54%) voting “yes” and 2,086 (46%) voting “no.”

Two Board of Education seats were also up for election, with Jennifer Birdsong-Ng and Shanna LaDelfa taking the win at 1,961 and 1,950 votes respectively.

The other candidates running had the following breakdown of votes:

• Sarah Dollé - 1,300

• Sue Casey (incumbent) - 1,175

• Charlie Roods - 690

• Jennifer Fonseca - 666

• Peter Lloyd - 552

Voters also approved Proposition #1 for the purchase of school buses, with 2,711 (60%) voting “yes” and 1,810 (40%) voting “no.”
