A Recap of the 3/5/2020 Webster Town Board Meeting

The Webster Town Board had a long agenda slated for the March 5 regular meeting.

Significant topics the board discussed included the following resolutions:


Resolution to authorize the Supervisor to sign an agreement for Advanced Life Support services in the Town with North East Quadrant Advanced Life Support, Inc. in the amount of $50,000.00 for January 1, 2020 thru December 31, 2020.

  • This item was tabled to the March 19 meeting.


Resolution to appoint Donald Hauza to the Zoning Board of Appeals for a term ending December 31, 2024 to replace Kenneth Corpus who resigned.

  • This resolution was approved. Mr. Hauza had previously retired as the town deputy commissioner of public works, and now he is back working for the town.


Resolution to appoint David Galeazzo to the Board of Assessment Review for a term of three and a half years, ending September 30, 2023, to replace James Paulino who recently resigned.

  • This resolution was approved.


Resolution to appoint Sarah Nowack to the Board of Assessment Review for a term of two and a half years, ending September 30, 2022 to replace Joseph Parisi who recently resigned.

  • This resolution was approved.


Resolution to appoint Vincenzo Carciofolo as a new member to Webster’s Special Police Unit.

  • This item was tabled to the March 19 meeting upon further discussion.


Resolution to appoint Walter W. Dell as a new member to Webster’s Special Police Unit.

  • This resolution was approved.


Resolution to approve the negative declaration for accessory building being constructed at the Wastewater Treatment Plant.

  • This resolution was approved. Essentially, this resolution affirms that the accessory building will have no significant adverse effect to the environment.


Resolution to consider the issuance of an Industrial Use Permit at 1720 Boulter Industrial Park-Company: Li-Cycle.

  • This item was tabled to the March 19 meeting (pending fire marshal report).


Resolution to consider the issuance of an Industrial Use Permit at 587 Phillips Road - Company: Luciano Auto Sales.

  • After lengthy discussion over the logistics, this resolution was approved.


Resolution to consider the issuance of a Special Use Permit for Accessory Building at 1656 Ridge Road - Company: Charis Properties LLC.

  • This resolution was approved to refer the matter to the Planning Board.


TABLED ITEM: Resolution to take permanent dedication of the balance of Boulter Industrial Parkway at the entrance to the parking lot at Yankee Stadium. Approximate Footage - 895 feet.

  • This resolution was approved.


Following discussion of the regularly scheduled agenda items, Webster Town Supervisor Tom Flaherty explained why the “Open to the Floor” portion of the meeting was moved to the end of the meeting. He said it was moved to ensure that all agenda items could be taken care of first so that residents can comment freely at the end of the meeting about any non-agenda topic.
