Webster, NY - West Webster Fire Department responded to a large working fire on Klem Road at the corner of Whiting Road on Tuesday.
At approximately noon, West Webster FD was dispatched in response to a heater on fire in a 2.5-story garage that was once used as an agricultural building or barn.
When units arrived, it was declared a working fire. According to a press release, Unit 123 arrived on scene within minutes and deployed several hoselines early “to limit the damage.”
First responders brought the fire under control at approximately 2:06 p.m. No injuries were reported.
“Due to the size of the building involved, and heavy fire, several mutual aid companies were called in to assist,” Captain Brian Zimmer reports in an online press release.
The Northeast Joint Fire District, Ridge Culver Fire District, Brighton Fire District, and the Saint Paul Blvd. Fire District all assisted.
The East Rochester Fire Department and the Penfield Fire District provided mutual aid fill-ins.
“We always appreciate the assistance from our mutual aid partners,” writes Zimmer.
The Monroe County Fire Bureau is currently investigating the cause of the fire.
